Tsunami Days

Ever have one of those days where your list of things you WANT to do gets washed away by things that suddenly NEED to be done?

Adult life so often feels like we are constantly reacting to things that are ‘urgent’ at the expense of things that could actually create life-filling opportunities. If your day feels like it’s been drowned by a tsunami of ‘must do’s’, you’re not alone!

Try my STAR approach to Tsunami Days.

S: Step away from the situation - literally. Step outside, into the sun or a quiet space when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

T: Take a moment to reset. Try 2 short breaths in through your nose and one long breath out to reset your nervous system and calm your mind.

A: Accept where you’re at. Telling yourself off takes energy and will only make things worse. You’re here now, let’s work with that.

R: Recalibrate your expectations of yourself and the day. You only get this day once, might as well finish it better than it started!!
