Mistake or Adventure?
Even though I love adventure, I’m actually not great with uncertainty! I’ve had many high anxiety spikes at times in my life when I feel like I’ve made a mistake or somehow ‘taken a wrong turn’.
Yesterday we took what looked like a ‘wrong turn’ and ended up in the BEST place! As we pulled into a tiny English village, we stopped at the local church to take some pictures and stepped in just as the organist was rehearsing! It felt like such a beautiful moment that would never have happened if we hadn’t ’made a mistake’.
Part of ‘Being Kind to Our Minds’ is learning to live at peace with uncertainty and to embrace the unknown. Being open to the idea that a mistake could be the doorway to a new adventure is part of having a growth mindset and learning to live at peace with possibilities rather than get stuck in narrow ways of thinking. Who knows what little gem could be hiding around the corner of that ‘accidental’ wrong turn or change of circumstances!
When have you take a ‘wrong turn’ and found something epic just around the corner?
